Yes, our Helen. I miss her all the time...still. We all know there's no one else like her. I'm glad you said that, Jan. I couldn't bring myself to be the one to bring it up. God sure blessed me with a best friend and confidant like her. Helen made me and everyone feel extra special. And that SMILE! Can't you just see it now? Now I'm smiling just thinking about it. I'm so thankful to have spent quality time w/she and Dave at our 10 year, because it was only about 6 months later that she got her diagnosis. She's just the brightest person...and still a shining memory for us all, I'm sure. What a gal. We should have a toast in her honor that night. I may even drink a beer for her, even though I hate beer! But she sure enjoyed it, and would probably laugh with me the whole time I'm forcing it down. hahahaha...ok, I can't wait. :) Let's toast for Helen Burks Cooper, for the sweet Susan Anderson, and for any and all others we've lost from our class. Life is too short, isn't it.

Hello all! I just got a phone call from Jan Parker. I think that I shocked her since I was home this afternoon; thank goodness for vacation time! She told me about the website. I had a great time reading everyone's comments. Sheri, the quarter reference really made me smile. It's a wonder that 1896 is still standing--after all the quarters bounced on the tables! David, Great family pic.'s. It appears that you are married with 2 children. Do you live in McAlester? I'm looking forward to the class reunion. I really enjoyed getting to visit with so many people at the 10 year. I found myself spending most of my time getting to know/visiting with those classmates that I didn't spend much time with during High School. We live in Rogers, Arkanas and due to travel time won't make it to Friday evening activities but will be there Saturday. Thanks again for putting together/maintaining this web site.

David...great job on the site! Unfortunately (or I should say with great happiness and joy???) I recently experienced the joy of marriage and parenthood so won't be able to make it back for the reunion. Hopefully will make the 25th or 30th (damn we are getting old!).

I saw the other parts of your website...last night, I saw a friend of mine from Austria. She had this really weird necklace on, so I asked her "hey, I need to borrow your necklace so I can re-power my starship and go home." She (and everyone else there) didn't have the faintest idea of what I was talking about...but still I made sure that I didn't get any of her tears on me...
