Jan we sure missed you last night I think I can speak for everyone, we all had a great time. Alot of people showed up. But so far we have to say the most changed is Rae Boagard She looks fabulous. I would have never guessed it to be her. Just about everyone else looks about the same. Do you suppose its because we are all growing old at the same time?? Well Im waiting on Sandy Lapuzza to get here she didnt make it in last. We played a mean game of quarters. Me, Jana, Todd A.,Chris W.,Karla ,Sherri, Jennifer,Lisa Ward. I think I was probably the worst out of them all. Well I better get off here. I'll be talking to ya. And who the heck is Chi Chi Rodriguez????? Im not sure whos missing out of the golfers. Bye

Steve L, Bucko, John D, Jerry W, and me kicked butt on the golf course today, beating Monte, PD, Mark O, Chris W and Steve N by one stroke in a four man scramble. John D was our ringer, making most of the shots and putts, but Jerry came on strong on the back nine, making several fine shots and one very impressive drive on the double-dogleg 12th. OU beat OSU in the college putt-off, with an honorable mention for Lamar U. Did I get everything right? I only had five hours' sleep, and my memory isn't as good as it once was anyway.

Beers were cracked at 8am by the opposing team, and the round of tequila shots at the turn didn't help them at all. I think that they might have had a near-fatal golf cart accident, breaking several expensive golf clubs in the process, or maybe I'm making that part up. Liz and Debbie were driving the beer cart! Lots of laughter and good times for all.

The club up north off of 69 was called the Skyline for a while? The house band, from Tulsa, was The Most Valuable Players or something like that. They did "Free Ride" as their signature song. That was a fun club!

Oh dear Sheri! We were involved in so many quarter games, after 20 years they have all merged together. I just remember the front round table at 1896 by the door. We sat there way too many times!! And just think, at the time we were all under age!! Remember our fake driver's licenses?? How many of us had one? I could name a few but will allow those violators the chance to come clean on their own :)) We used them to get into that dance club up the road a bit that looked like a big metal barn. What was that one called? or the club near Wal-Mart. Can I just say how stupid we were to drive on the highway around SouthEastern Oklahoma under the influence as often as we did! From Big Mac to the dance club or to Number 9 and back! Hello!! I definetly remember the fun but I am a little fuzzy on the details. My brother says I moved out here and conveniently forgot all of the "bad" things I did.

Please get on the mail list and send me Diana's info if you could. I think my brother said Diana's mother had a lung removed !?! The big "C" again. I too had a little trouble signing up initially but it finally worked and I have enjoyed those emails as much as this page.

Kathy, I do talk to Denielle quite a few times each year. We keep intouch although we haven't seen each other in more than a few years. I tried to call her this morning in Dallas and at her mom's but no answer. I am sure you will all see her tonight!

And do I need to remind you all what a great yearbook staff you had???? That was fun too. What was the art teacher's name that we worked with?? We would take off in Kelly Vaughan's little brown car (Pinto??) during class to go "sell" ads for the yearbook. Or take pictures! We would usually end up at Braums and come screeching back into the next class at the bell! Typing I believe, with that long skinny lady. Wasn't she weird?

Well, I am rambling and feeling sorry for myself that I am not there with you all! Have a great weekend!

Well its Friday and most people are probably traveling in. David the answer to your question about the yearbook still being the dancing rabbit is, yes it still is called that. I dont think its as good as the yearbooks that we used to have. The pictures in it are so small that you can hardly tell who it is. They try to cram to much in it. Well that was probably more info than you asked for huh? This page is great!! Thanks for doing this David. I hope that we can continue to visit with each other this way even after the reunion is all over. Camille have you decided if your coming yet? Drew do you still have long hair? If I remember right it was to your shoulders at our 10yr.Am I remembering right??? My brain is going as I get older to much partying when I was younger. See ya tonight.

Jim, if you really want some lone star, I'll send some over, but it's not very good. It's the Rolling Rock of Texas, not as good as Buttwiper. I'll send over some Carta Blanca, something you might drink a lot of in a border town, but the cool thing is that there's a place on the bottom of the bottle that you use to twist off the top of your next beer, a cool gimmick that will make you very popular!

I just spent last night in Norman, saw some old bandmates. Call it a mini-reunion. We didn't play any quarters, maybe tonight!

So I made my own subscription form. Just click on "Listserv Subscription Form" at the bottom of this page, or click on the Buffalo at the top and look for the Listserv link on the main page. Fill out the form and I will send an invitation in a couple of days.

Sheri, please do not post any street or email addresses in this forum. Please use the Listserv and that way it is kept in email.

Call me paranoid, however you have seen that there are people other than MHS 1982 graduates looking at this page. To that end I removed all email addresses from this site. At least that will cut down on the spam you may receive (yes, spammers harvest email addresses off web sites.)

Everyone, if you have not done so already, please subscribe to the Listserv. You are missing a whole different level of communication that comes to you in your email.

Don't know if I make it to 1896, but I will see you at the reunion.

Jan, I had Diana's address but I gave it to Debbie. She is going to emial it back to me and I will post it on here for you, ok. Her granny (Oleta) died last month and I have a sympothy card to send her. Her mom is good and lives in Eufaula. I see her dad at the elks lodge every Fri. nite. He is doing good. He said she was back with James and they are both in Florida. I havent heard anything about her being sick, I hope not. I spoke to Karla's mom today and they are traveling in tomorrow and she is coming to the reunion. It's been 20 years since i last played quarters....I don't even drink very often...and I may end up under the table but I'll play as long as I don't have to sit by Mark Zummer again....he nearly killed me a week before graduation with that game. Remember......I drove you home that night. I'll be thinking of ya

Hi everyone. I just found out about this page from Camille. This is really cool. I am really looking forward to see everyone. I just talked to Janet Manos and she said that Larry Davis told her that he might be here. Sheri said so far we have about 90 people and that includes spouses. Dawn and Margaret I really am sad that you both cant make it. I sure remember all the good ole days that we had together. Dawn I see your parents alot here and there. They both look great. I bet your mom is sick of those crutches though. Well here is a little about whats been going on in my life. As most of you know I married Johnny Oss out of High School. We had one son together. His name is Ryan. He graduated from High School this year. After 9 years of marriage we divorced. I am now remarried going on 8 years now and have a 8 year old daughter, Nicole. I have stayed around McAlester all these years. I guess I'll be here forever. Tim Epps that is a name that I havent heard in forever. When I think of you Tim I think of Red Hair and freckles. Did you have red hair when we were young? Did you say you were gonna make it to the reunion? Jan do you stay in touch with Denielle? I know she mentions you when I get to see her.Hello to everyone on this page and I cant wait to see all of you that are coming. Be careful traveling. And I'll see you Friday night. Bye

I am sooo bummed out. I am sitting here at work, not travelling to Big Mac. You all really have to post all of the happenings as soon as you get back home. Is everyone driving in?? Jackie do you drive from Nashville?? Stevie, are you driving in with FOUR kids in the car?? Is everyone bringing their families? I am so envious.

Sheri, I would really like to get in touch with Diana. Do you have any contact info? Is she okay?? Is her mom okay?? Or did I hear she got sick? Thanks.

I will be thinking of you all sitting in 1896 playing quarters! I can just see it! Bounce one for me. I know Pam and Eddie know about the reunion through Denielle but last I heard Eddie will be working and Pam was hesitant to come by herself! Go figure. Tried to catch Lisa Young but surely she will show up.

Take pictures and post everything!! Be safe and have fun!

I am away for a few days and the whole world goes crazy! I heard about the immature attempt to mess with the board. I certainly hope it was some kid who had way too much free time because I pity any "grown up" who would be that childish. I'll again join the "David praise" and thank you for all your hard work and effort.

As for the beer...Drew I am deeply hurt and shocked that you would call me on the whole beer thing. I am afraid I will be scarred for life and might never recover...sobbing uncontrollably...ok, I am over it! I thought about sending you a case of some of Texas great beers (Lone Star, Rattlesnake, etc...) just to make good but thought better of it. Although, I do like the idea of you guys coming up here to collect, I have come to a compromise. Since you and Jackie have been so entertaining the past few weeks, I thought I should split the case between the two of you. The only question is what beer? I could go with a local beer like Dominion or Foggy Bottom. Head up to Pennsylvania and do Rolling Rock (a classic on par with those fine Texas brews)or Yuengling. The only beverages off the table are Budweiser and Coors products, after all, we are talking beer!

Larry D. is in Caracas, Venezuala. His company moved him there almost two years ago I think. He was just in town because of an unrest near Caracas a couple of weeks ago. We were so normal. Kids today have so many problems. It's very sad. Good to hear from you Todd. I look forward to seeing you next weekend. Maybe I could get an estimate on the years of damage. HaHa! I imagine everyone will be standing in line to talk to you. Have you heard if Larry is coming? Janet Manos said that there is a lot of fighting in his country, and that he is coming back for the reunion. Is that true? It's also good to hear from you Rae. It's been about 10 years. Have a safe trip. See everyone on Friday!!!!

Hi Todd and Dawn! FUN! Good to hear what you guys are up to. Sounds like life is full! Sorry you can't come, Dawn...and yes, I agree...let's keep writing here. And Todd, it'll be good to see ya! Drewstah! You keep 'em coming now! But don't be skeerd...haha. I don't think anyone here bites. ;-P I left a message at a house I think is Rae Bogard's today...but it was Jerry (her husband) on the machine, and hopefully she'll get the message. I think her parents still live in McAlester...anyone know Phyllis Bogard that lives there??? I should try to call her tomorrow, I guess. I sure would like to see Rae again. Debbie Burrows...are you the one that's on the planning committee? Or whoever is, I'm wondering about details. Was all the info on the invitation that we need to know? (I guess I could go LOOK! HA!) Just fill us in on what's goin on... What do you have in store for the festivities???? OK, 9 days... :)

Of all the weeks I have to be at Camp this weekend begins mine. The kids are from a childrens hospitial they all either have a blood diseases or cancer, I am doing a leadership program for kids ages 16&17 (yeah I know me training leadership)Anyway I have done this camp for three years and it would be impossible to get out the first weekend of training sooooooo..I will miss all of you

Hey everyone! I am having a few flashbacks just reading everyone's e-mail. Sure brings back alot of great memories just seeing everyone's name again. Drew, however, I think you've had your limit of e-mails on this web site. Margaret, are you still in Houston? I've been in Houston since 1990 - Plastic surgeon. I'm still married to Missy (17 years) with Taylor(boy)- 10 and Kayleigh - 8. Steve L. thanks for referring the web site. I'll see everyone at the reunion.

Margaret, We'll miss ya! But goodness...where you'll be is much more important. Hope all goes perfectly well for your brother. God bless him, your family, and the kidney donor! I'm big on the idea of donating organs. What am I gonna do w/them when I die? Why not save a life! And if I ever get to CA again, I'll sure call, although John's brother's stint w/GM in CA will be over this summer, and they're moving back to Michigan. But I've never been to Lake Tahoe...so...maybe I'll get out there someday. Hope so!

Hey there Jana~! :) I know we email a bit, but it's always good to see you in person~! And yes, I heard Pam's recital was one for the books! Wish I could make that sometime. We just had ours all weekend long, and boy am I glad it's finished.

And with that, I've kinda lost track of what had been said/asked/discussed/etc., as of about a week ago I've been too busy to check in on the puter too much, and mom was in town, which was nice. So today things are getting back to summah~! YAY! I'm really looking forward to our reunion, and getting to see and talk to everyone~!

Steve D...I'm vaguely recalling (maybe it was on the email thing...) you wondering if I remember you. ??? Am I dreaming that? haha If you did say that, I just want to say that OF COURSE I remember you living right across the street from Jana! I think I spent half my childhood on E street. Your life in Florida sounds great. It's so fun getting back in touch! :)

ok, just wanted to check in. When does the countdown begin? Let's see...is it TODAY? (Tuesday) 10 days and counting...

I've just found out I won't be able to get back for the reunion after all. My brother is about to undergo a kidney transplant (hopefully very soon), so instead of going to Big Mac, I will go to Houston to see him. I'm sorry I won't make it.

If any of you are ever in Northern California, please call. San Francisco and Lake Tahoe are only 1 1/2 hours away from my home in Sacramento. Jackie, Pleasanton is around an hour away, so call next time you are coming.

For those of you who can make it, have a great time at the reunion. Please post all the stories after it's over so the rest of us can read about it!

Jan, You are so right. Losing a parent is the hardest thing I've ever faced. It's a loss that can not be explained. I thought Mom would live forever. I figured I would build a Mom apartment in my yard. It's very hard to live life without Mom, especially with this new baby. She would have loved him. I wish you were coming to the reunion. Maybe the next time you are in the area we could all get together. Steve L., I just saw your mom and dad at a wedding last Saturday night. They look wonderful. Your mom called me pumpkin. I love it when she calls me that. Is Phillip coming to the reunion? I believe Angelo is coming. I can't believe we have baby boys about the same age. Conner will be 2, August 1. Well, better go. See you next week.

Jan, thanks for the info. Yes, all those counties are very large, that's why I would want the small car, because they wouldn't pay me enough for the SUV. I also applied for jobs in San Diego county (wouldn't that be nice) and Santa Clara county, but I didn't have enough experience for either one.

And yes, I know what FORD stands for, there's even another one that's not fit to print, and if you're a fan, it's First On Race Day....

Yeah, Jenna Bush, I can't get rid of her...she's always showing up at my door with a 12-pack and a bottle of tequlia under her arm, or doing the booty call at 2:30 at night...I have to constantly turn her away! I tried to call her dad to get her to stop, but they won't put me through to the Oval Office for some reason!

Drew, I just re-read your post. At least you don't have to do Ventura County which is to the north of LA County. Still, allot of territory with allot of cars and people. Just make sure you'll get compensated for the travel. San Bernadino County is all the way to the East border and North to the 15 (to Las Vegas). I don't know about a little car! You'll be a peanut on the road. All of these people out here think bigger is better. You should see the huge FORD's (found on road dead) on the road. There are big huge SUV's and Truck's everywhere you look.

How's that for an opinion!

One more thing, as I remember you from high school......is it really a good idea to have a wild and crazy partier like Jenna looking in on you out there? I don't see how that helps the situation!! haha

Have a good day.

Greetings all. Jana, what a nice suprise. We really did have some fun times in that old neighborhood. My neighbor next door has a dog that looks just like Skoie (is that the correct spelling?) Roger J. you probably remember Jana's dog. Jan, you mentioned big Olie. Remember what a huge OU fan he was? I guess he was the first person that made me an OU fan and eventually an OU grad. Paul (Bucko), I remember your dog too. Pluto. Boy did that dog have a bark. Well, nothing too exciting in my life right now. My wife and I are enjoying the beaches here in Florida and we are doing some traveling. Other than that, the hospital keeps me busy (I'm a hospital administrator - they don't let me very close to the patients). Take care all. Great hearing from you.

Does anyone know if our former teachers were invited to the reunion?

Allright, it looks like this web page is starting to pick up again!

Hey Jan, you're in Pasadena? What's it like there? I'm applying for a job right now at a place on Oakland Avenue. For this job I would be driving all over LA, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, and considering what I know about LA traffic, that sounds like a lot of driving. I bet that I could pick up one of those little Daewoo's for cheap, and use that for the job.

I might be relying on you to tell me the neighborhoods to stay away from!

Jana, oh my, I am so sorry. I believe Denielle or maybe Lisa told me about your Mom! At the time I think she was sick and as you well know....I was in the middle of Mom's illness so my focus was there. I am sorry to hear that your Mom passed away. I could go on forever on this subject so I'll be carefull. It just seems soooo strange that I don't have a Mom! It's so sad. I really feel for you and for Lisa and for Bucko. The Big O has been gone for some time but really it seems like yesterday to me. I remember the phone call we got when Olley died. Margaret was looking for my brother. For anyone else who has lost their parent, I'm sorry for you. It is much harder than I would have ever imagined. Oh dear, I might cry.

OK, so you're intouch with some people I hadn't thought of in years!! Please say hello next time you see them. Jennifer, Kathy! Mary!! Is she still married to that rascal Randy!! He is very cool. And the name Larry is coming back to me. The three STEVE's! I should really get out my Dancing Rabbit! I can almost see everyone's senior picture, since I worked at Dale Ward's and I did our Junior and Senior sections in the yearbook! The faces are all coming back.

These people need to get online!! Keep it up guys. Has everyone joined the mail list??? I am really enjoying all of this. I am very disappointed that I won't be there!

Have a good weekend! We are off to Sin City for the weekend. There are some perks to living in Southern California.

Hi everyone!!! It's great hearing from all of you. Wow! It's been a long time. I live in Holdenville, Ok. So, I'm not far from Big Mac. I still see lots of old friends.(usually at Pam's Dance Studio) I'm teaching 4th grade at Wewoka. My husband is teaching freshman english and coaching girls softball. We have three children, Morgan 14, Madison 10, and Conner 1.(The last one was planned. Hahahaha) Camille was right, life at this age is very boring, but boring in a different way. Life is busy with baseball, basketball, dance, football, etc... Camille, congratulations on the new baby. I'm glad you're feeling better. Pam's dance recitle is a mini reunion for many of us. I just recently visited with Lisa Young, Sheri Young, Mary Saunier, Jennifer, Kathy Molet, and many more. I'm very excited about the reunion, but just found out that my son's state baseball tournament is the same weekend. I'm torn on what to do. I know I'm rambling on, but I have so much to say. I'd love to address each of you personally. Margaret, I was glad to hear from you. Glad your doing well. Enjoy your precious daughter. Sorry you won't be attending the reunion. Jan, Glad to here from you. Thanks for mentioning Helen. She was one of a kind. I'm a better person just for knowing her. I miss her. I was Sorry to here about your mom. I also lost My mom to cancer. Steve D., Great to here from you. Just seeing your name brought back so many childhood memories in the neighborhood. We had such a good time. How is life in Florida? Steve N., Hi guy! How the heck are your? Steve L., It's been a long time. I guess the last time I saw you was at Larry's wedding. Are you still in Kansas? How many children do you have now? I think of you often. Sheri, I'll be ready with my quarters! But skinny dipping is out! Hahahaha David C., Thanks, you did an excellent job on this web site. You're awesome! I hope to see you at the reunion. Drew, You are still a wild man. See you soon. Roger J., You're right, I haven't seen you since graduation. How are you? Where are you? To the rest of you guys, it was great reading your posts. Keep them coming. I'm enjoying hearing about all of you. I hope to see you all at the reunion.

Hi there Margaret!

You and Jan are both in California? It's so beautiful there. John's brother lives in Pleasanton, just north of San Fran, so we got to visit them last summer. Drove up Hwy 1 on the coast from LA to SF. SO LOVELY, but gas was $3.10! I'll never forget that. California has such a variety of everything. I think I could be happy there, even tho I never want to leave Nashville. :) I hope you get to come to the shin-dig. It's so fun catching up. And no, I've not heard anything of Erin. I hope someone has, because I enjoy hearing about what she's up to. Maybe she'll come and surprise us all.

Jan, I know nothing about those people...wish I could add something there. I do still talk to Jana Allford/Fitzgerald when I go to McAlester. She lives not to far from there. I'll have to call her and try to reach Rae Bogard/Winchester. I last saw Rae at Helen's funeral, and boy howdy did she look great! I sent her a few Christmas cards after that, but haven't in the past couple of years.

Anyone else???

Hey, the coollist email thing is fun! If you guys haven't signed on, you should. I like hearing about everyone's lives and whereabouts. I think you just click on that Buffalo up there, and follow some instructions...

Check y'all latah! Jackie

Lisa Young, I know you are there! Am I going to have to call you?

Pam Adams, Denielle just saw her at the Italian Festival.

Diana LaFevers---hello. or Tracy Franklin.??

Mark Otis, where is this guy??

Kelly Vaughan is in the North Dallas area, Denielle has her number.

I am out here in sunny Pasadena --- all alone.

Oh, Karla Glass! I think we can find her in Mississippi.

Sheri, did these people respond to your letter??

Still enjoying the comments!

Sorry to break up the band reunion, but I don't have a musical bone in my body. And my only memory of Mr. Hull is that he showed up to every football game drunk (at least I thought he was drunk).

The last time I was in Big Mac was about 4-5 years ago. I went with Carter to hear his band play at 1896. It was a trip.

Dawn is still in Dallas. She's teaching middle school -- can you imagine? Has anyone heard from Erin O'Brien?

Hey Tim, are your fingers broken?

Hi everyone! Great to see that you are all doing well! I have enjoyed reading the stories and remembering some - Drew, I especially liked the JD laugh. David - thanks for putting this together...Sherri and gang - thanks for working so hard on the reunion.

I'm still having a difficult time trying to realize that I am 38 and still haven't grown up yet! Has anyone else grown up???

I'd love to see everyone at the 20th, but unless I can't get a flight, I'll be leaving for Cozumel for a diving trip that Saturday.

Keep the posts up - this is pretty entertaining!

Jim, at last check this page is 56K, so I think we can afford Drew to ramble a bit. However this page is getting a bit long to scroll through, so I set up the list serve so we can carry on in email.

Jan, check your email and see if you have your list subscription invitation there. I also looked through this page and sent an invitation to the "frequent flyers" as well. However I did not send everyone in my email list an invitation due to privacy concerns.

So if you are reading this and did not get an invitation, invite yourself. You are welcome to click on the Buffalo at the top of this page and click on the 'MHS 82 List Serve' link. Follow the directions and let's keep this going in the list.

Drew,

And I was getting back online to thank you for inviting me to my only MHS party! Oh well, was the night after graduation and if my memory serves me right, it was me, you, David and a lot of leftover beer! Actually, quite a bit more to the story but decorum, good manners and the permanent restraining order prevent me from posting here! As for looking over my shoulder...I left ya a target you could drive a truck through with the whole high school dating thing! Besides, didn't you do enough damage as my driver's ed partner in Carano's class??? People in DC live in fear of me on the Beltway!

I will e-mail Kim...better yet will call her.

Does anyone ever hear from Dawn? Haven't seen her since I lived in Dallas.

Drew,

That was one long rambling post...hope David has tons of bandwidth available!

As for what was written by your name in the 1982 Dancing Rabbit...take a look at what was written by my name..."Once a friend, always a friend." (Speaking of the yearbook...what the #@&%* was up with my hair???) Talk about a curse! Add to it that all Mom's loved me and I didn't drink until spring break senior year and I was dead...what high school girl in her right mind would want to date a guy her folks aproved of??? ;-) Well the fact I was deathly shy didn't help. Guess I better work on that shy thing!

Drew, that was a great idea going to the 81 reunion. How old do we have to get before we get to do one of those 1980-1985 reunions? I'll bring the extra walkers.

One Ed Rivera story for the road: The infamous "Music Theory" course - 5th period - was where all the orchestra/band seniors hid to get out of taking a real course. JD (Mr. Hull, for the uninitiated) routinely showed up late and in a somewhat questionable state of mind. One day Ed gets there before everyone else, turns the needle on the record player backwards and crosses some of the exposed wires in the back of the arm. Hull decides to play records that day instead of teach theory - big surprise - as he gulps down coffee, no doubt bringing down the buzz (or so I'd like to imagine becuase it makes the story better). Right before the record arm comes down Ed leans over to me and whispers "Watch this". Everytime the record makes one resolution it skips, and everytime JD picks up the arm to reset it it shocks the bejeezus out of him, causing him to spill coffee all over himself. By the time the show was over it was a miracle neither one of us had wet ourselves.

Hi to everyone else. I think I remember most of you, though many may not remember me: if you can tell from the above, I kept a somewhat low-profile in public (but got all my friends in trouble anyway).

Kent weighs in! Glad to see your post, you had better make it to the reunion! We have something in common – we both tried our darndest to drive JD crazy, but obviously we were too late. He was already there, the poor guy. I even threw a bunch of Christmas trees in his yard. He deserved every bit of it, don’t you think? I couldn’t wait to get out either, Kent. I started classes at OU the summer after graduation.

I was wondering about Ed myself, that crazy bastard. What happened to him? Where does he live? Will they let him out so he can attend? :-)

Jimmie has limited access to email when he's out, so we might not hear from him on this board. Tammie speaks for him...and I really wish that they could make it. Jimmie and I memorized the slogan on the Budweiser beer can together, one drunken night. It seemed really important at the time…

Jackie, I hope you know where Rae is. Can you get the ball rolling, start making phone calls, and make sure that she shows up? I haven't seen her in 20 years, and a face-to-face is in order.

Tim, I don't think you're scum for not replying to my email, but excuses won't help for either that or for not being able to go to the reunion! One of your daughters is in a golf tournament? That’s pretty cool! When's the last time you hit off #1 at MCC? Sorry I laughed so hard when your tee shot on #9 hit the cart path and rolled all the way back down...that wasn't very nice, so I apologize. I once sat in your living room with your dad, while a party was going on at your house after a football game, I think. He was watching each kid come through the door, noting how many got tripped up on the step right at the threshold. He commented on how all these kids were either really uncoordinated, or drunk...that was funny, and that was the last substantial conversation I had with him. I miss him, but not nearly as much as you do.

There are a lot of memories that we all get to relive when reunions come around. Some are good, and some are bad. Some of them are painful, and make us afraid. Some of us have more issues than others, just look at this freaking long post! I wish that I could make it real simple and post “Hey, its Drew, see you there!” but I can’t.

Robert, do you think that I liked what someone put next to my name in the yearbook? It was even brought up on this board…do you think I liked that? Not at all. (Jim, I’ll get you back for posting that, when you least expect it!!) I didn’t like every person I went to high school with, and not everyone liked me, but I'm not going to let that stop me from attending. Who cares now? That was a long time ago, and it’s way past time to bury the hatchet. I had plenty of friends in high school…you should go to the reunion, Robert, and talk to everyone there, and if we don’t know who you were then, then tell us who you are now. Tell us about the kid that you want to spend the $25 on. I don’t care if you dig ditches for a living, or if you’re the multi-gazillinaire head of your own software company, but if you don’t go, then I’ll never know, will I?

Why the Star Trek references in my earlier posts? David Crowell, Jeff Saneman and I watched so many Star Trek reruns as kids that we used to build transporter consoles out of cardboard boxes, with the three sliding levers and all. We used to argue which one was better…now that’s what you call Old School, when your hero was James T. Kirk, not Jar Jar Binks. And just for the record, I like the old Batmobile, not the new one. David is another person that I haven’t seen since graduation. And yeah, David, I don’t need my MCSE, CCNA, CNA, or anything like that. I’m already fully certifiable.

In the third grade, Sharla Jones used to tell us that her uncle was Too Tall Jones, and I believed her! I wonder if she remembers that? I’ll ask her when I get there. Benny Auten posted on this board? I hope he attends…Denielle Taylor’s out there somewhere? Cindy Martin? Steve Lienhard? Damn it’s been a long time.

So I get to relive these memories, they remind me of who I am now. I get to go to the reunion, see some people that I haven’t seen in 20 years, old friends that I knew since first grade, and I can’t wait. I went to the class reunion of ’81 last year, just for grins. I saw Julie Welsh…how long had it been…and she’s still the sweetest, most forgiving person I know. I saw Mark Argo, Kevin Stansel, Scott Bridges, Janet “from another planet” Bellamy (don’t ask, it started when we were about 7), Joey Talbot, and Kerry Webster, of all people, and a host of others. I hadn’t seen these people in so long, and I was glad that I went and was able to spend time with people that I knew from way back. Dare I say that it was part of a healing process? Was it a good thing? ABSOLUTELY.

Damn this is a long post, you say, so let’s wrap it up. Everyone can tell that I'm in a weird mood.

Don’t let anything stop you from going to the reunion, you’ll be glad that you did. I personally guarantee that you will have a good time. If you can’t go…Tammy, Jimmy, Kent, Margrita Rosita…Helen…you will be greatly missed.

David: First off, major issues with the yearbook mug shot? I win. What the hell was up with my hair. But thanks for this website.

Nice posts, Jackie (really). Yeah, I tended to hate H.S., but I still have fond memories of band and orchestra - and trying to drive Jerry Hull insane, which I got pretty good at. Believe it or not I do miss seeing all you folks: Jackie, Helen, Rae, Tammy, Jimmy, everyone … maybe even Drew (sorry, couldn't resist). Which brings me to my next point - where is my great co-conspirator Ed Rivera? Now I really miss him (for the insanity, if nothing else).

So 20 years ago I couldn't get out fast enough. I think Allen Cutler and I were the only seniors that year to start college in the summer (that's desperation for you) and now I don't know if I can make it back there. Esther and I are in the middle of moving to a new house, but if I can swing seeing my folks in Norman around that time I'll try to get there. I haven't been back for 15 years (since I got married). I guess having a 3 year old has mellowed me a bit and made me nostalgic. (It can't be age…not yet).

Tammy - make Jimmy write one of these things every once in a while.

Hi to Tim, Todd, Jo and Steve D. :)

Margaret, OK, hope you can make it! We almost ended up in Sacramento, but took the Nashville position (hub's job). I love it here!! Very "me"...(whatever that means). Nice that you have a daughter. I like daughers. Well, I oughta...I've got 3. At the 10 year, I was 5 months pregnant with my third, and I stopped there. Someone else will be the one with the most children this time. I know at least one person from our class w/4 kids. Anyway, wouldn't it be nice for you to get back to McAlester for a visit. How long has it been since you were there? Some things change...some things don't. I liked growing up there. Nice town.

It's great fun to hear from everyone. Sadly, I've lost touch with almost everyone because I never get back to McAlester.

I originally thought I wouldn't make it to the reunion, but there's a slim chance I will. Can I register at the door?

I hope to see all of you in a few weeks. If not, please post some great pictures.

Hi Everyone. Dittos on your comments Jackie. Like Jan, I think it is intresting to know where all of you are living these days. Probably like many of you, I too am not in McAlester. My wife and I live in St. Petersburg, FL. Hard to believe, but we have now been here 10 years. I do miss McAlester, and when I am there never have enough time. Take care.

Ok, David. You've got me. I think I subscribed to the list but then again maybe not because I never gave a password and of course if I try to log in it doesn't know my email. So can you help? I must be doing something wrong. User error as usual I am sure. My email is (REMOVED BY WEBMASTER). By the way, do you do this for a living? Where are you? For that matter, where is everyone? Is this whole site yours? Designed by you? And just curious why/how all of the Star Wars sites are linked. I love keeping up with friends via the internet. The downfall is that between the home computer and my work functions via the phone, fax or computer, I wonder if I can really comunicate face to face anymore!!

I am really enjoying everyone's comments. This is really bringing back some fond memories for me. Keep the comments going people! As for those whose memories may not be as good as mine, I am sorry. Now that we are all grown with children of our own, I am sure we see both sides of the coin through our own child's school experiences!

Hey Tim, great to hear from you after so long. However I was enjoying a feast of David-praise until you came along and cut off my ego supply. Bummer! Look forward to seeing you at the reunion, anyway.

I am genuinely pleased with the response to this web, and I welcome all good comments as well as all the bad. I have to admit I had Robert's attitude when the 10 year reunion came around. I also had many issues about high school. However Jackie's right and it is not said enough that life is too short. I expect to establish new friendships with many of you, as well as repair and rebuild old ones. Also, I hope this web will serve to keep us in touch for some time to come.

Towards that end, I have set up a list serve and all of you are welcome to join up. Just click on the Buffalo at the top of the page and look for "NEW: Keep in touch via email".

Later.

Robert, Hi. I'm glad you posted, even though you seem sad and somewhat bitter. I'm very sorry if you feel that no one knew you then, and wouldn't know you now. I hope your venting post helps heal any hurts your harboring after all this time.

I want you to know that I went to the 10 year, and had a good time. And I may have had lots of friends in high school, but that doesn't mean I - or anyone else - is "remembered". Heck, I saw someone's copy of the 10 year reunion video, and there was a caption under my husband and I which said: "Who are these people?" ...But those things don't matter. What matter are the people that truly mean something in your life. Sounds like you have a family and they are the people that truly mean something, as you surely know.

High school may be a lonely memory for some, but we all have times in our lives when "life" seems very lonely. High school isn't what real life is about, and whatever someone wrote about you in the yearbook (yes, I looked it up and found why you put that "fries" reference) may come across mean at that time, but from my experience, it only hurts as long as I let it hurt. Maybe your writing what you did will help you let it go. I hope so. And I hope you take what I'm writing with the good intentions that I'm writing it.

I don't expect to be remembered by everyone, and I don't expect to remember everyone myself. But that's ok. I grew up in McAlester, and it's great to see even one person that I remember, because I don't live there anymore.

Like I said in an earlier post: Life it too short...

Hi everyone, sorry to say that I will not be there to see you all. I was not there for the 10th and I really didn't know any of you then so why come see someone that didn't even know that I was there in the first place.. this way I can spend the 25 bucks on the kid, so you all have a good life.

P.S. by the way "Hold the Fries." see you...

Hey All! What a great idea, David! OK, enough with the David-praise.

Drew, yes, I am scum for never responding to your e-mail last fall. I hope to make it to the reunion and see you. It has been too long.

Margaret, I am sorry to hear that you cannot make it. Also, too long.

Steve L. - I need to call you on our next brief trip to Wichita (if you are still there). My mom sent me a picture of one of your boys on the cover of a local publication. Looks like his dad.

Sheri - I got your e-mail, but have yet to respond. I get about 15 minutes a week to do this. With work and 2 teenage daughters equates to that little time online for dad.

Steve N., Jackie, Jan, David, Denielle, Camille, Sharla, Ben, Bucko, et.al. - Look forward to making the reunion and seeing all that can make it. Schedule still unsure with oldest daughter's golf tournaments. Will make every effort to be there, though.

P.S. - Hey, Rick P. Is there any kind of a tournament involved with the golf at MCC on Saturday?

P.P.S. - Karl Fanning is here in Tulsa. I see him occasionally.

P.P.P.S. - My e-mail is (REMOVED BY WEBMASTER).

Hi everyone. What a nice suprise to see so many names and comments from my old classmates. I guess I shouldn't throw that term "old" around too much. Just remember, it's just a number. Jan, thanks for giving me a heads-up on the website, And David, great job. Thanks for taking the time to set it up. You have now given us an avenue to stay in touch. No more excuses. I missed the ten year reunion, but I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the 20th. I'll just add one thing about the Dancing Rabbit. If I remember the story correctly, before there was a McAlester a treaty was signed between some settlers and the Indians in the area. That treaty was called "The Dancing Rabbit Treaty" - named after the indians. I went and looked at my class ring, and sure enough there is a Dancing Rabbit on it separating the words McAlester High school. Sorry, I am sure that is more than you ever wanted to know. Take care.

David,

Definitely some great ideas! You are a true computer guru. That is why I had my daughter...by the age of five she should be able to help her old man figure this laptop out! I especially like the listserve and the photo ideas.

As for hair, have all of mine...keep it in a ziplock bag for old time's sake! :-) Love the gray ones...they seem to stay attached!

Random thoughts:

The Internet is the greatest invention since sliced bread, and the best human achievement since the moon landing. A device that can bring old friends back together after many years of silence cannot be trivialized. <!-- End of Lofty Statement -->

Jackie, great to hear from you. I have been blessed and fortunate to still have a full head of hair, however I am about 30% silver. I am aging gracefully thank you , at least physically.

Mentally this may be a different story. My brain still functions the way it always have, predictably unstable (although I can guarantee that Shuller is more certifiable than I am... but that is a good thing, right Drew?) The yearbook now lives on my desk, and do forgive me as I have to refer to it often. Also I regret that I have not kept contact like I should over the last twenty years. This is my motivation for this web site.

Of the web sites I have built, this one has been the easiest to start, and thanks to Debbie B. I was able to invite you all here. I am excited by your response to it. I am looking for ideas to continually improve it, and to keep bringing all of you back to see whats new. I hope to keep this going long after this reunion, so we can keep contact in between reunions.

So here are some ideas: A Listserve which will deliver posts like these to your email box, Then and Now pictures (I'm getting too old to be shy anymore), and I will look for any and all content from all of you in both text and pictures.

Finally, back to the Dancing Rabbit yearbook: Please correct me if I am wrong but the Dancing Rabbit was the original mascot of McAlester High School. However the thunderous charge of ...(announcer's voice) The Dancing Rabbits... did not put enough fear into our high school rivals. I am unsure of when the Buffalos were adopted (maybe the 50's) however the Dancing Rabbit continued to lived on our yearbook cover. I am interested to find out if they still use it on yearbooks today.

Whew! How's that for continuing the discussion, Jackie?!

(are there any other Jackie's in our class?...if not, I'm foregoing the last name from here on out. If you don't know me, my name is a couple of posts down...ha!) Jan, I just reread your post and realized you won't be there. Darn! It's very cool to read you, tho. This is fun! And I don't know if I have grey hair or not, as I've been dying it for the past 10 years. Blonde, but now kinda red. Yes, that's right. RED! woo hoo! I hope everyone starts chiming in...I'm getting a big kick outa this. Hi to Denielle, Camielle, Sheri, Steve L., Drew, Sharla, Ben, Margaret (sorry you can't come...how the heck are ya?), Roger, David, Tammy, Steve N., Paul/Bucko, Rob, Tina, Brad, Jim, Julie, Rick, Melissa, Julee, Cindy, Tammy A., Tammy S., Debbie, Monte, Kayla, Jim, Brad, Robert...oh I do hope I got everyone! I'm doing pretty well pulling up the memory back after seeing the names after all these years. Maybe I won't even have to reference the Dancing Rabbit. (why was it called THAT, anyway? Anyone? Maybe we should give a prize to the person that can come up with the most creative answer to that question!) ok, enough from me...(for now) :)
