CommentsHi All, Sheri, yes, I'm a bit apprehensive, but anxious to start my new job. Fourth grade is my new grade. I'm so looking forward to no testing. I talked to my new boss today. She said we may not start back until after Labor Day. They are remodeling the high school. It's a bit scary having all new students. At Moss I knew all the kids K-12. I knew their families and everything. Wewoka will definately be a challenge. How about a Blue Sky, Sky Blue(whatever) this week sometime? Diana, Great to hear from you. So glad all is going well. I'm sorry to hear about you and Steve. What are you doing in Florida. I'm flying into Orlando July 27. Are you close to there? Hearing your name has brought back a lot of memories. We sure had some good times. I wish you could have been at the reunion. We had a blast. I also have a fourteen year old. All I can say is "attitude". Talk to you again soon. Take control of that daughters computer. You are the boss!
Commentshey Diana, I guess I should have checked this first. I just emailed you through classmates. I guessed Jadian's age right!! I haven't forgotten everything, totally, anyway. If you want in touch with even more classmates, join the listserv. It is kinda like this but you receive comments like these through email. It's great. David has a gallery set up with lots of pics from the reunion, I bet he would send it to you if you would like. I'll try but I am so computer dumb it doesn't always do what I want it to. Also I would need your email address. There is so much to catch up on that I don't know where to start. You probably got alot from these notes. My girls are now 15 and 9. Sarah just left here with boyfriend to go up the street to a friends house to watch a movie. I'm still not use to her going in cars with other kids. SCARRY. She is nothing like us though. Usually, I can't get her out of the house. She will get her permit next month and get to drive legally with me at least. I let her drive now but I know I shouldn't. I just think kids need more than 6 months practice so we've started a little early. Kacey is my wild child...she will probably be worse than we ever thought about just to pay me back for my raisin(as my dad loves to point out). I see your dad often....lookin good. I saw your mom about a year ago at one of John's kids(Logan, I think) school musical things. We talked a little and she looked good too. I saw Brandi about a year ago when I had jury duty...lookin really good. Never see John...how is he. My mom and dad are doing very well. Kenny is doing good. He has had 2 heart attacks, age 34 and age 35. They put in stints both times and he is doing great now. Kevin is ok. He has a daughter age 5 and I'll tell you more about that sometime. anyway....good to hear from you....tell Jadian thanx again....bye ....sheri
CommentsHey Yall I'm in Florida (HAHAHA) This is Diana sorry i couldnt make the reunion, too far to go.I hope everyone is fine. I am doing better than I have ever done before. I have two children both girls and they are doozies. I am paying for all the fun I had growing up thru my children My oldest is almost 14 that should say enough.... Some one write me back and I rode with EC in the mornings to school and Tracy Frank. and Lisa got to go my child wants her computer back.
CommentsHey Yall I'm in Florida (HAHAHA)
CommentsThanks Sheri. Oh, to write that one, great song. If only it were so easy. But I'll hold you to it if I ever do get that far. ! :)
CommentsJana, summer vacation is almost over. Are you looking forward to starting your new job? I hope you get a good bunch of kids, 4th graders...right? I'll be thinkin of ya that first day of school. See ya at dance.
Commentsgook luck jackie, keep it up. It would be very coool to be watch the cma awards some night and see you get the song writers award. can we all come and sit in the balcony and cheer you on. we'll be very lound and obnoxious( i can't spell worth a hoot) just for you. lol
CommentsHi Jana. We should probably take this to email. But anyway, if he's only doing lyrics, he'll have to join Nashville Songwriter's Association Interntaional (NSAI) it's on the web. Anyway, it's everywhere, and they can possibly hook him up with people that only do music. Otherwise, it really doesn't work that way. It's so much more complicated than you can imagine, and it's not like it used to be. You have to pretty much present a full blown record ("demo") that costs a bundle, and may never see the light of day. But the guitar/vocal can work, also, but that's usually not what gets a song across to the folks that count. Anyway, NSAI is the absolute best starting point. I don't focus on Christian, not for any particular reason...that's just not what "comes out" of me. Anyway, to be honest, Christian music only makes less than a 10th what country music makes, moneywise. It's all dog-eat-dog, and we're competing with the best writers in the world. Pretty daunting, and harder than I ever imagined...even though it's fun to try, and I truly am called to it. Maybe someday I'll get a cut...
CommentsHi Jackie, Curtis is trying his hand at songwriting. Where do you send lyrics? He's got one that's pretty good. You need to send me some of yours to view. Do you write any christian lyrics? Talk to you soon.
CommentsDavid, This is great!!! Now I can keep in touch with everyone. Thanks for all the hard work on this... Cora
CommentsI may have had a few wild times, but I don't think I did anything graduation night. I remember that day, though, thinking I wouldn't be sad at graduation, but I ended up being REALLY REALLY sad, and I couldn't stop crying. Then I remember thinking that everyone was going on some trip out of town to some beach or something that night, and I couldn't go because I had to start work. I guess I knew from that day that life would never be the same. Then, my mom moved away from McAlester pretty much the same time I left for OU. It was so strange. McAlester was my hometown, but that's not where I went on college break anymore. I felt very out of touch from then on, and I relied on good friends like Helen and Jana, and my sister Penny and Wade, of course. I miss having "roots" now. Of course, my roots are still there. That's why the reunion was so fun for me. (hey...I think there's a song in this somewhere...maybe I'll try to write it!) :) Love, Jackie D!
CommentsI remember graduation night vaguely. We went to #9 to go skinny dipping, and then ended up at Angelo's pool. His mom was kind enough to lend us some bathing suits. We then went to the Savanna truck stop for breakfast. Sheri, I remember you being there, Mark O., Philip, and Angelo. Who else was there? Jan, you did walk down the steps to KUA. We all had some wild times there. I also remember Sandy L. getting me out of trouble with cops. Camille, you and Jennifer were not the only hooligans! There were many of us.
Commentswhew...I just got back from checking emails. I had 61 new messages and they were all the listery. I know that is way more private but way harder to read. David, it is easier to scroll than to go back to inbox everytime. I'm exhausted now....going to bed. good night all
Commentshey who let that 83 in here? lol. welcome Lisa. Raymond, wow you have traveled everywhere, life must be fun. Kathy, I know grad nite we went to the lake somewhere but I don't think it was #9. I remember Angelo got his stereo speakers stolen out of the back of his Z something or another. All of a sudden the music stopped and when he went to see about it ....they were gone!! What a week that last week before graduation was. I was sooo wasted at Bachalorate(spell chk) services. We had gone to #9 that Sunday afternoon (as usual) and when I got home ooohweee my dad was soo mad but I was 18 so he didn't really yell too much (that time). It was coach Holt's history class that I showed up for every morning after "smoking". Weren't you with us, I thought so. Riding around with EC before school. How did we ever get away with it? We got chased by the cops one time because Kim L. kept a tray from the sonic but we lost em pulling into the parking lot and running in for montage practice. We were so bad......later. ps. we should probably save this stuff for the listserv or change the names to protect the innocent.
CommentsThis girl from "83" sure had a great time visiting with everyone from "82"! I just wish there had been more time. I think this web site it great! I'm enjoying what everyone has to say. I hope ya'll don't mind my imposing on your site. I think a reunion with several classes is a great idea!
CommentsHoly cow! People, the long comments belong on the listserv. Let's try to keep comments on this page to just a couple of sentences. My mouse is tired of all of the scrolling! Kathy, you should have a reply to your email, which I hope will fix the problem.
CommentsSheri, there is probably more stories out there; however, I don’t know if too many are willing to share or remember their teenage delinquencies. I am surprised but not too shocked about those who already shared; Jan I am shocked… not really, it has been a long time since I heard about you… and I am glad you are doing well; also I still think of you as 18 since I haven’t seen you since. Me, I am no saint… but I never had the opportunities to indulge while in high school (one of the only parties I can remember was going over to Marty’s house after a prom and he was all geared for a large crowd with a huge keg… I don’t remember many coming over, and I think he was stuck with the keg… I am pretty sure he had no trouble emptying it). However, I can tell you all my wicked stories while I was in Hong Kong (the second best time ever), Tokyo, Okinawa, L.A., San Diego, London (third best time ever), Paris, Innsbruck (the BEST TIME ever), Monaco and Rome. I am not too sure about the facts on Krazy Uncle Albert’s (KAU). I vaguely remember it because it was a disco? And I had a cousin who was from that generation of the glitzy disco age, and dancing there at every opportunity. Sheri, I am also glad that you did well in college. I did twelve times better in college than I did in high school (I definitely was no brainy student); I graduated in the top 25 percent of my academic class of Arts and Science at OSU with my degrees in Graphic Design and Art History (I think I may have graduated in the middle of road, or just below it at MHS). Also, I had fun at college. I am so glad I started off at Eastern. I ran track and field there for my freshman year; I wasn’t the best long distance runner, but I had so much fun there. Marriage was never singularly a priority in my life, nor is it now. I still feel young enough to start a future, but old enough to realize that I am more mature to accept all responsibilities of that kind of relationship whenever it arrives. Right now, marriage can wait… I still feel like I can, and want to make a difference in this world. For all those who are happily married and have children; I am happy for you and I truly think you were blessed. I think there is nothing more wonderful than a family; and I am afraid my day will come, but I am not running to it. Jackie, I am not just blowing smoke… I think you should have stayed with modeling even after your child. I worked with many models that were mothers… but I know that in the runway world: yes there is a specific look, attitude and height, which are required to be successful. I do wish your daughter well in that career direction, the Ford agency is very competitive (looking at the models today in comparison to tastes of yesterday… it is all about an edge, the look that is “so almost five-minutes ago”). I never thought how young, you – the models start out… when I was doing some student teaching, a freshman approached me and asked me many questions about my artistic photography, and fashion photography… I was impressed with her inquiries. She came back the next day and surprised me with her novice portfolio as a model… her pictures made her ten years older, and I hope she did well with it too. The only tip I have for your daughter is to stay with it, and have fun with it. I had a girlfriend, who modeled some, and that is what she told me about my illustrations… I just got lucky… I think that is the other “X” factor in the business. I am sorry that I beat every one down with this narrative… so I will close. Sincerely, Raymond.
CommentsI wish you guys were on listserve...this is fun to banter back and forth, but hopefully we'll all be on the email thing soon. Jan, the Rock Quarry cliffs! I still tell people about those. Soooo high and such clear water! FUN!! And that truck wreck a bunch of us were in the back of...was that Kenny Benson's truck? And Sandy LaPuzza pulled rank with the hwy patrol. It's a miracle some of us weren't killed. I guess there's safety in numbers, because the brawny guys protected the rest of us from slamming into the cab. Our angels were looking out for us that day, people. Anybody else remember that? Steve, I think you were in the front and your elbows went through the windshield. I think that's the last time I ever went to Rock Quarry cliffs. Kathy, the Bluebird Cafe is the place. But I don't know about it for kids. That's cool about the Hartshorne girl doing the pageant at the Acuff. Best of luck to her. We just had our massive dance recital at the Roy Acuff...the same place. 4 shows in 2 days...and about 1,200 dancers. It was fun! My girls were in about a total of 25 dances. Glad that's done with, I must say. Funny you should mention pageants, as we just mailed the official entry for my oldest to be in the official Miss Teen Tennessee USA pageant in October. I'm of course pulling for her. It's her first one, but I think it'll be a good experience for her. And back to you, there's lots to do by the Acuff...a big, new "Opry Mills" mall, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, etc. It's a tourist area out there. Hope to see y'all on the listserve! Going to check to see if Jan's pics are in the gallery yet. Good idea about sending family pics... Jackie
CommentsAre the sand dunes the same as the cliffs we jumped off of??
CommentsHey isnt Marty Edwards in prison now? He was one wild Fella. Sheri at least you made good grades in high school. Me I just got by. Did anyone have Mr. Browns Psychology class 1st hr in their Junior year. That class was something. He would always say " I know some of you in here have been "smoking"this morning. I think most of the class showed up stoned. He is still teaching Psychology at the high school by the way.Same ol Mr. Brown. How about our graduation night? I think if I remember right there was a big party at #9 Lake. Am I right? Any stories? Or how about all the lake partys? or the sand dunes? I remember people getting into fights alot. I just have bits and pieces that I remember. Well Sheri you seem to have a pretty good memory of all this stuff.Better than me. Bye
CommentsHey guys, I'm soo glad to hear I was not the only teen delinquent(spell chk) in town. Jan, kua was behind the old kfc building and yes you went down alot of stairs. It was in the basement. I only got to go a couple of times. Karla and I went with her older brother, Jeff, and his frind Dwight McCullough. I had a big crush on Marty Edwards and he first turned me on to "smoking". I was going out with Carter Baumert and Marty was his friend that I thought I lusted for.....If we only knew then what we know now!!!lol. Remember KUA closed after Carol King got attacked and beaten very badly in the parking lot, FYI she passed away about a year ago with cancer....bad deal. Drew, I never woulda guessed, you always seemed like one of the brainy kids to me. you know I coulda made way better grades if I woulda just paid more attention to studies instead of parties. I always made a's and b's but I coulda been a strait a'er. My freshman yr in college I was on the Deans honor roll and received a congrats letter and everything....wow! I went 3 semesters and then thought that I just had to get married. BIG MISTAKE!! except for Sarah, she is great. Well anyway....there's gotta be more stories out there, c'mon guys, speak up. sheri
CommentsSteve L. My brother said tell Donut to stop by next time you are through the area!! Speaking of donuts, man, you took Helen and I (Bucko too I think) to the donut shop early one morning before school! That was the BEST donut I've EVER had. It was straight off the rack! I compare all donuts to that ONE!! None have ever come close! Even Krispy Kreme. How are your parents? JD
CommentsEverytime I check this page, I remember something else and LAUGH!! Sheri, how is your brother?? I haven't heard Don mention him in some time. I saw Jimmie MacDonald in May. Still sweet as ever. I remember several trips to the lake to party with you, Diana, Kelly, STEVE NICHOLS (originally introduced me to smoking!) and was Mark there too? Again, I certainly remember having fun. I've always been nervous in the car under the influence so I remember the driving to and from! I can't believe we did that! If my kids try something like that, I'll have a heart attack! Krazy Uncle Alberts! That sounds sooo familiar but I can't "see" it. Where was it? Did you walk down steps to get to it? I am sure I went there a time or two at least. I couldn't stop laughing last night reading all of the posts. Is everyone on the email list? I guess just anyone can read this page! I sent Dave a picture for the Then and Now pictures. He is waiting on some of you people to submit pictures to build the page. Send him family pictures so we can see the spouses and kids!! Pictures via email are a great way to really see what people are up to, but I guess we should be aware of the size of the files before we blast out pictures in email! Drew, what happened to your job prospect in Pasadena? I have more to say and many questions but I'll save it for the email list! Happy Day people!! Jan
CommentsJackie, I wanted to let you know about a pageant that they are having in Nashville on July 27th. Its Miss National Teenager. A good friend of mine has a daughter that won here in Oklahoma and she is gonna be in it. She lives in Hartshorne and her name is Jaclynn Ranallo. I thought you might be interested since there is going to be a home town person in it.She is really a beautiful girl.We are all hoping she wins of course. Its gonna be at the Roy Acuff Theater. We are gonna be in Nashville for 5 days starting the 20th of July. Any suggestions on what we should be sure to see? You told me the name of somewhere when I talked to you at the reunion but I dont remember where you said.(imagine that). Well Im at work so I gotta go for now. Bye
CommentsI just come by to see what all the commotion was about!
CommentsI can't even stop laughing long enough to say anything. Till tomorrow! lol Jan
CommentsKrazy Uncle Albert's, wow I forgot that was there. I was in there only once when I was 14... I was always jealous of my older brother that got to go there with his friends, then one night I got to go. Valerie Burks (Cortz??) was bartending, I think that she gave me a Jack and Coke, or maybe it was just Coke. Then I danced with someone, it might have been Gloria Hudson, I can't remember, and the song was something by Rick James, or maybe it was The King Of Pop. Michael Bleicroth's brother was there, my brother was there, Marshall Maddox, Sherri Miller (??) the blonde girl in band that got grounded for a year...they were all Jr's and Sr's. As you can tell, my memory isn't that great, but I do remember having a pretty good time for a HS freshman! Drew P.S. Cover your ears, but 1896 was the first place that I ever SMOKED DOPE
CommentsWell I tried emailing on the coollist but for some reason it wont let me so Im just gonna have to do my writing over here until David can let me know what is wrong. I emailed him about it tonight. So Sheri I really didnt realize that you were such a bad girl in High School. I guess I was doing to much parting myself to notice. I sure am glad my son is nothing like I was. I would just die. Rick so do you get plastered often????? Just Kidding. So is that what you do for a living? Krazy Uncle Alberts now theres a memory. I was getting in there when I was 14 too Sheri, I bet we were there on the same nights but we just dont remember. I do remember it was really smoky in there. Not cigarette smoke either. Its amazing what that place got away with back then. I cant even imagine them even letting a place like that be open in this town now days huh? How about Sundays at #9 lake. I spent many of Sunday afternoons laying around on that beach.Jana do you remember those days? Well I have lots of pictures to remind you. When I was making that picture collage for the reunion it sure brought back a whole lot of good memories. Well gotta go for now. Bye
Commentsrick, i just tried to find you on yahoo messenger but no luck. you're probably out getting plastered....oh my bad....i meant plastering lol
Commentshey Jan, I'm trying to think of some good ol days stories but I'm afraid I've played one too many quarter games. I needed to be a fly on the wall too cause I was there and still can't remember alot of stuff. Hey, I do remember seeing Toni Perkins with her daughter that looks so incredibly like her...beautiftul..still. Oh, heres one....were you with Diana, Kelly Vaughn, Me and some others (that I can't remember) when we were driving home from the lake(i think) one night and pulled over to go weeeeeweeeee. It was sooo funny. I remember a car full of us in my red 1972 Cutlass, I wish I still had that car...what a classic it would be now. Remember our brothers being friends? there are some stories.......I won't tell if you wont. hahah now, tell me some of your memories. see ya sheri
CommentsFor those of you who have AOL instant messanger my screen name is plastered64 alright, it's not a joke---I'm an ornamental plasterer by trade---it has nothing to do with drinking. If you would like to visit through instant messanger then please notify me throught e-mail, or on the listserve, of your instant messanger name so I don't block you (thinking you're some kind of salesman.) I'll also post this on the listserve. You know, if everyone has instant messanger, then we could all visit together in realtime. A little party in your own home!
CommentsGreat Web site
CommentsJana, welcome aboard the listserv. You should have received a new email from me with the link to the pictures, however I will not post a link here just yet. Yes, I am mean, cruel and rotten. We have 23 list members but I want more to join before I make the link public. I am looking at this page about once a week, but I am checking my email daily. Therefore I got the impression that I was the only one who had fun at the reunion. These great comments on this page should be on the listserv; this page is way too public to hold this kind of forum. If you are reading this and you are a member of the listserv, but you are not receiving any mail with [MHS82] in the subject line, please click on "Contact the Webmaster" at the bottom of this page and let me know.
CommentsDrew, Thanks for that correction...I had no idear what the heck you were talkin' about. ha! Looks like you and Jana will have to duke this thing out about her singing to you...or not???? Wish I had been a fly on the wall during that quarters game!! Julee, of course we remember you! Glad to hear ya! I was just in Overland Park, KS this past Tuesday-Wednesday. Went there directly from Oklahoma after the reunion for a meeting my husband had to go to. His boss lives in OP, and we stayed with them. SUCH a small world! And you've seen Rae in the pics...she's the GORGEOUS tall blonde in the pic with Steve L and I, and there's another one with just she and I. Thanks for the compliment...but I really think everyone looks just great! Hey, we're pushing 40 and THIS is what 40's like NOW! Right guys?! Sure ain't what it used to be, huh? :) The guy - as I'm sure you've guessed - is Chris Wright! He was soooo funny with Mark! What a riot those two were! A highlight of the reunion, I must say. Well take care. This is fun!!!
CommentsSorry we missed the reunion but loved the pics! Remember me? I lived next door to Bucko and his terrific sister Mary- I was hoping to see Rae Bogard (?) but had a great time trying to figure out who was who! Jackie, you are still as gorgeous as ever! Camille, Jan, Debbie, Jana- you all are STILL FABULOUS! Saw a picture or Danielle that reminded me of when we were in Drama together and did our "Arsenic and Old lace" skit. I still cant believe its been over 20 years! I think we are all aging well! Drew- You probably dont remember this , but Rae and I were best friends until I moved away and she and I both had HUGE crushes on you. You once took me to dinner at Isle of Capri, and when I moved away I understood that you and Rae dated. I also remember your brother wrecking his very cool convertible. I am very happily married and living in Kansas City (Overland Park) now- working for Sprint as a National Account Manager. No kids- we are too spoiled with traveling and having our "freedom". I wish we could have been at this reunion, made the first one but had some very sad family issues that kept us from being at the last one. One question-who is the guy in most of the pics with Mark Otis- who by the way still looks EXACTLY the same? I have an idea... but need someone to confirm. Glad to see everyone- saddened by the losses our class suffered. Hope to be at the next reunion- even if we all are in our wheel chairs! LOL!! Julee
CommentsHey, I just noticed that the last post was by Jan, not by Jana. She's the one that's forgetting stuff, from, say, about a week ago. I'll try to keep things straight from now on!
CommentsApparently, Jan doesn't remember much of anything, at any time! Call it a "selective" memory! :-)
CommentsOh my, I just remembered what slammers are! As usual I don't remember the specifics. Haven't had that to drink in about 15 years or so. Sheri, your posts remind me of all my drinking days. Most of it I've completely forgotten. Just go ahead and tell it all now......get it out in the open. lol Jan
Commentsyou guys are all too sweet. Thanks. I hope everyone had a good 4th of July. Rick, I have to admit, I didn't know you either. You need to send David a picture of yourself from back then so we can have something to compare the now picture to. You have an advantage over some of us. You were great fun, why didn't you party with us back then? The skyline club sure brings back old memories. Mark Otis taught me how to do slammers one night. I got slammed alright....by the drinks....not Mark, hahah. catchya later. sheri
CommentsKathy: A lot of our classmates did not or do not remember me from school 'cause I was in and out of McAlester schools through the years. I was only back for our senior year in high school and got back one week too late to get my picture in the yearbook. Many of our classmates are lifelong friends with me as we went to grade school and Parker middle school together. Others, like Paul Olinger, were family friends long before we went to school. My brother still lives across from the armory on polk st where I grew up and I have an aunt there who has always lived next door to Rhonda Bakers' parents. Enough about me, I thought everyone who showed up was great and I sure missed those who didn't show up. I really wanted to see Robbie Brummet, Mellisa Gripando, Kenny Benson and Kelvin Glover. Oh well, mabey next time.
CommentsDavid, how do I get to the pictures. I joined the listery. What do I need to do? Yes, I am computer illiterate. Sheri, you are just as beautiful as you always were.
CommentsCamille I will get hold of Kim about the pictures. I dont think she knows about this website either. Sheri, I think that you are getting prettier with age. Actually that goes for alot of people. So quit knocking yourself down. Rick you seemed to have had a good time at the reunion. To be truthful you know that day you stopped me at Goodys I had no idea who you were. Then When I got home I couldnt remember what you said your name was, so I could look you up in the yearbook. My brain is going with age. But Im glad you came to clear that mystery up. But I will remember you now. So next time you see me I will recognize you. Do you have family here? Sheri I dont think Angelo left early Someone said he was out on the balcony the biggest part of the night.Well Ill talk more later. Bye
Commentssheri I thought you looked great, in fact, i thought everyone looked great.it looks like you all had a blast sat. night. lots of class of 83 were there, we always were the best class (hahaha)thanks again david. does anyone talk to kim wallace she had a digital cam. we need to get to send her pics.call her sheri or kathi.later scl
CommentsSherri: The words "big, fat, pig" never came to mind when I was visiting with you at the reunion. Quit knocking yourself, nobody else is. We all love you just the way you are.--
CommentsHi Everyone, I've been looking at the pictures posted and just having a good time all over again. The pictures were all so good EXCEPT for the ones with me in them. What a big fat pig!! Quick! someone get me Angelo's number(lol). I'll take care of that before the next reunion. I'm like all you, I missed getting to chat with alot of people. Why did Angelo leave so soon? Steve, your wife was great. She just partied with us like she graduated right along with us. That picture of you and her was great, you just need to cut mine and liz's back sides out of it. I haven't developed mine yet but when i do I'll send em to David. I hope more of you post yours too. What fun but I gotta go cook dinner now......as bad as I hate to. see ya sheri PS. Congrats Jana on Morgan's Big Win!!
CommentsHi Dawn, We missed you at the reunion. If you join the Listery on the first screen David will send you a email with the blue link (address) to click on that gets you to the pictures. You can tell I'm computer stupid huh? Well gotta go.Bye
CommentsHey, I just got in from camp and I wanted to see how the big renion was. It sounds like it was a really fun time. Please let me know how I can see pics. I really did miss you guys .
CommentsOk, I am gripping reality here with the pictures! I know I am 38, my husband is 43, I've gained some weight in 20 years........seeing it in full color has been a reality check. I may feel 18 and still think of you all as 18........but we ain't! Oh well, this time is just as good as those early years! I have a few questions about the classmates that we've lost. I can gather that the names on the table are those people since Helen is there. Can someone fill me in on what happened to the others? If it isn't too difficult to discuss. And I see a few references to Randy Davenport. I missed that story too. Please catch me up if you would. Thanks. Jan
CommentsGood Job!!!
CommentsYes, it was sure great to see everyone!!! I had a wonderful time. You gals did a fabulous job of putting the reunion on. Thanks very much for allowing us to come together again. :) I just got back home late last night 7/3, as we had some other places to visit after McAlester. So I'm late checking in here. Jana, CONGRATS to Morgan and his team! WOW! Will they be on TV for nationals? We were just in Kansas City all day Tuesday and we drove home from there yesterday. I had never been there. It's beautiful. And Rick, we DID have the BBQ, funny you should mention it! haha. Jana, keep us posted on that, k? If you get a chance, go check out the beautiful "Plaza" area, just to the sound of downtown KC. It's around 47th street. It's like Rodeo Drive, only bigger. Fun to window shop. Megan found a cute pair of Lucky jeans for school, and I got a neat gardening hat (of all things) on sale at a store called "Halls". You'll like that area. Steve! You crack me up. All I can say is, you're still the sweetie you always were. I'm glad you got to get acquainted with John. I knew you two would hit it off. John had a great time golfing with all you guys: Jerry Winchester, Drew!, and Bucko. I sent a pic of you guys over to David, along with all my other pics. Hope they go through. Oh, and I also never got that list with everyone's address. Let me know if you get one, or maybe someone can scan it into an email for us that didn't get one. ??? I meant to do that. Rae, you're still the sweet, great friend you were back then. I'm SO glad I got to spend time with you and Jerry. He's a great guy! I hope we will be in touch now. :) You are stunning, girlie! And your kids are precious. Thanks Raymond. I do encourage my daughter in her modeling. She's at that age now, and is being considered by Ford. Keep your fingers crossed for her. Maybe she'll grow a bit taller...she's exactly my height now, and I was always too "small". But you're sweet to say that. It was good seeing you, and talking about KD, et al. That's cool. Mark Otis and Chris. TOOO FUNNY!!!! Debbie, you sang the song beautifully! That was so great of you to do. Thanks for letting me help in my little way. It was very touching, and we sure did need to remember. We will always remember. There are so many people I didn't get to REALLY spend time talking to. I'm bummed about that. Maybe if we do have our next reunion in 5 years...then every 5 after...that's a good idea. And yes! Include the classes of 1980-85! I love that idea!!! OK, enough for now I guess. My head is spinning. Just know, I feel like our class is very special. Glad to know you ALL. Jackie
CommentsDavid and Drew the pictures were great! With the help of camille and her husband I finally figured it out. And Im on the cool list now so that will keep me in touch. Todd all those old pictures I brought that you didnt see are on David's Pictures.Check them out when you get a chance. Well I talk more later. Bye
CommentsOops! I hit the wrong button. I wasn't quite finished yet. Kathy, I still haven't recovered. I am no good at drinking anymore, but that is a good thing. I think next time I'll just visit. Drew, why are you spreading rumors about my singing to you. I remember everything except that. What did I sing and where did I sing it? The ladies at the GAzebo are even teasing me about it. You made it up, didn't you? I'll talk to you all soon.
CommentsJana: Steve is three and a half hours from Kansas City, down in Wichita, KS. I'm in Kansas City. Hope you have a good time while you're here. Try the barbeque.
CommentsHi to everyone. David if there is anything I can do to assist you in the graphics support for this website… please let me know. It was good talking shop with you a little bit at the reunion… but more enjoying seeing you and your wife and knowing that you are happy. Jana, again I am so sorry about your mother’s passing, and I knew her from working with Mrs. Verner at the Gallery… she was a very nice lady. We had a wonderful art exhibit ten years ago and I would like to forward something to you, which she really liked from that period. Again, I will remember her personality and smile. Liz, take care of yourself… no more husbands for now, and tell your brother hi. To everyone who played quarters… I am sorry I couldn’t indulge… as I told Chuck Copeland; “Native Americans and alcohol don’t mix.” Those who were there at the ten-year reunion will remember that… and Liz, thanks for taking care of me then. Tracy Wingo… tell Charles Golden, the devil dog… Semper Fi… and show up at one of these reunions. Jeff Saneman, it was great talking with you and meeting your wife. Billy James, thanks for letting me be your Lieutenant, as you were a good Drill Sergeant, and best of luck in your retirement from the Army Reserves. Pat Foor, you should have come to breakfast with us… also, tell James Dolph to change his attitude (like that is going to happen)… say hello to him and Brett Elliott. Roger Joines, again, it was wonderful in seeing you and meeting your charming wife… I hope you guys like the fashion illustrations. Maureen… medical science has made significant strides in birth control… it was good seeing you… and I should have made more of an effort to talk with you. Mark Otis… lighten up. Chris Wright… I’ll send you the list of my top ten separately… my pick-up line is “how ya doing…” try it out… and if it doesn’t work for you… then it has to be my charm. Monte, I hope you and Steve had a safe trip together… it was really great listening to you guys. Deborah D, honestly, ten years ago I wasn’t looking at your chest… I didn’t even know what my name was by the end of that evening… actually; it is a smile that attracts me. Mark Z, thanks for hanging with us – you just talk too much. Rick Freeman… you are wildman, or a legend to Australians. Rae… you really looked sharp… but all the women there were beautiful, seriously. Jennifer N. and Mary Saunier… did I mention that all the women were beautiful? Jackie, you should have stayed with modeling, and encourage your daughter… I should show you some of the illustrations and paintings used from the KD agency… it got me in the door with fashion. Steve L., it was good to see you… where is Phillip? Paul O., it was good to see you, write and let me know how you are doing. Susan Logan, it is always good to see you and wished we talked more. Tammy Stacey, you and your husband are wonderful and full of life… don’t loose it! Rick P. (a.k.a. Petie), sorry I don’t know how to play golf… I would have dug a channel in teeing off… however; I have several years to learn until the next reunion. Drew, don’t change… I don’t know how to react if you did. Julie H. and Todd, you two live so close… give me a call sometime. Steve Dunn, I can’t ever imagine you without a smile… keep in touch. Debbie, your singing was great. To the ladies who put the reunion together, I give many thanks for the wonderful time. Again, I missed all those who could not attend. If I had forgotten to reintroduce myself to anyone, I apologize, because I am still somewhat shy and reserved (Dana K, Connie, Marshalla, to name a few). Finally, I am very saddened to hear about Helen… without a doubt, Heaven must be a very beautiful place, because she is a very beautiful person. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday.
CommentsSteve if I get one of those list I will mail one to you. We sure had alot of fun when we were kids. I sure missed Dawn not being there. Steve your wife was great. I think she had just as much fun as anyone. Tell her hi for me. See ya
CommentsJana, Glad to hear of your son success. It was great to see you, and everyone else. We are going to be in Chicago on the 16th of July, and sorry to say we won't be in town. But any time anyone is in Wichita, Kansas please give the Lienhard's a call. Also, thanks to everyone for being so nice to my wife. She was very impressed with our class. Paul O., Drew S., John D., Jerry W., I really had a great time playing golf Saturday. If anyone could mail me the address list for our class, I would be much appreciative. Everyone have a safe 4th Kathy, I loved seeing the old photos you had in the frame. It brought back memories of great childhood times.

CommentsWhat an awesome time!!!! Thanks to all the ladies that put the reunion together. Thanks Donut, Drew, John, and Jerry for reminding me just how much I HATE golf (I'm sure I won't play again until the next reunion and I'll still have the same updated clubs). I had an awesome time visiting with everyone. I tried to get around to say hello to everyone but after looking back on the night I realized that this didn't happen. I'm already looking forward to the next gathering. There were a number of classmates that I missed this year but hopefully they'll be able to attend next time - Dawn B, Margaret G, Bennie A, Erin O, Phillip F, Kenny B, etc... Thanks for everyone's friendships, Bucko
CommentsHey hey: Just nosing around. Dont, mind me any. Act like I'm not here. I'm just in here to read everyones comments.
CommentsThis is a great idea and I'm so glad David set it up! It was really good seeing everyone!
CommentsI miss you all already!
CommentsWow!!! I had such a great time. I believe I had my beer quota for the next 5 years. It was great seeing and visiting with everyone. Sheri, you are right about quarters. It was fun, but I sure did pay for it the next morning. I thought everything went perfect. To everybody who knew my son was in the State Baseball tournament, WE WON!!!!!! We got in last night about 3 AM. I didn't get much sleep this weekend. I agree with everyone about a 25 year reunion with the other classes. Sounds great! Kathy, Steve L., and Todd, I really enjoyed visiting with your spouses. They were great sports. Well, better go for now. I'll talk to you all later. P.S. Steve L., how close are you to Kansas City? We will be there on July 16th for Morgan's Nationals. May be we can meet.

CommentsGOSH, I had a good time this weekend. Best one I've had in a while. It's been on my mind for 2 days now. I agree that we should do this again in 5 yrs. The quarter game was a blast but I felt like sh-- all day Sat. until I got to the reunion and had a couple of beers. I thought everyone looked so great. I thought everything went just perfect. Chris and Mark were a hoot(as always) but I almost cried with Mark over Randy Davenport. I had ideas for something special for him and now I wish I had followed through with them. David, thanks for reminding me how not private the cyberworld is. I did that listery thing. How do you see the then and now photos you were talking about? Camille, ok so I don't type so well but I do know how to spell sympathy. I took typing from Mrs. Clarabell Wright. I still see her around. She's the same. Everyone have a good day and I'll catchya later.

And if I ever need any plastic surgery I will come see you in Houston. Camille, I missed you Saturday Night . I wish you could have came. Call me sometime and we'll go eat lunch. CommentsI had a great time revisiting with many at the reunion, and wish we had more time for such opportunities like this. I was impressed with everyone in so many ways. The breakfast club was the greatest! Also, I missed everyone who could not attend, and I hope to see you or hear from you again. David, as so many had commented before... you have done a great job in this website.
CommentsHad a great time at the reunion, can't wait to see everyone's photos....Deb |
